8 Random Things About Me from Aliya Zehra Zaidi

Tech-ishon March 16th, 2008Comments

I’ve been reading The Art of Start by Guy Kawasaki and began listening to The Art of Practice by Lance Giroux and this blog has caused me to reflect on “The Art of Random Conversations.” It’s just a thought at this moment, I haven’t written the book, but I’m sure it’s not a unique idea. While the “art of random conversations” can be summarized by generalizations, the experiences are unique to the participants. The benefits of a random conversation are many and in the recent months for me, it’s meant spiritual, financial and emotional gain.

Aliya Zehra Zaidi is someone I probably would not have otherwise met, if not for Twitter, since I live in Hawai’i and she in the U.K. Not to mention our convictions in life will most certainly lead our paths in different directions, but we have found commonality between us – enough so that I call her friend.

The Random Things meme making its tour on the internet has evolved from seven to eight, and here I list eight more random things about me that are different from the 7 Things Meme, and facts that I haven’t yet shared.

  1. My favorite restaurant in Houston, Texas is Taquerias Tepatitlan. If you’re in the area and want to dine on authentic Mexican food this is the restaurant to visit.
  2. If I could, I’d wear a crispy clean brand new white t-shirt, jeans and all white sneakers everyday.
  3. Over the years, I have dyed my hair bleach blonde, blue, red, ice black and sported corn rows and dreadlocks.
  4. I waited a few hours in the lobby of the Holiday Inn Waikiki hotel to catch a glimpse of Menudo.
  5. I could finally do one repetition of a rope jump at the age of 14.
  6. Frustrated with “packing” me, my sister Mamo placed me on a bike and pushed me down a steep hill. I learned balance quickly. I was 10.
  7. I didn’t want CSI character Sara Sidle to die under the vehicle, yet I didn’t want her to hook up with Gil Grissom. And now that actress Jorja Fox decided to leave the show I may not be interested in CSI for the first time since its debut in 2000.
  8. One of my pet peeves is people that drag their feet when they walk.

Aliya is Truemorist “Evolution,” she blogs regularly at evolution: There is no spoon…, writes for e-consultancy but to truly appreciate her diversity follow EvolutionLondon on Twitter – it’s her. She’s a self-proclaimed grammar enthusiast, probably the real reasons the gods had the paths of our lives cross – I always need grammar help!
