Yes, some people are stealing the media. That does not mean that everybody is stealing the media, or that everybody should be penalized for the actions of the criminal. Copyright law was set up to balance the rights of media owners with the rights of consumers to USE that media. Large media companies are trying desperately to convince Congress to tip the power in their favor, usurping the rights of the media consumer to use what they have purchased.
